Indore has seen significant upgrades in high-voltage infrastructure: MPPTCL commissioned the state’s first GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) substation in Mahalaxmi Nagar to enhance transmission reliability in dense urban areas The Pioneer . Additional high-capacity substations with 160 MVA transformers are operational, strengthening the grid further
Indore unveiled Madhya Pradesh’s first solar-powered public EV charging station near AICTSL office (Geeta Bhawan–Shivaji Vatika). It accommodates six vehicles (2-/4-wheelers and e-rickshaws), supports pre-booking and pre-paid recharges, and operates at ₹15 per unit; further expansion plans include 47 more stations across the city.
Under the revamped distribution sector scheme (RDSS), 11 new hi-tech grid-stations (33 kV/11 kV) were planned across Indore, enhancing local distribution capacity and resilience.
